Kicking Television
Yeah, right. The last CD I bought was Kicking Television by Wilco, but you know I usually spend my evenings watching movies, not exercising or going places or even reading that much anymore...
Ainsley tagged us for this TV meme, so here goes:
Andrea is just tacking onto Amanda's. Her answers are in this lovely shade of blue.
1. What do you watch most?
Survivor!
Friends
2. What would you be embarrassed to be caught watching even though you do watch it?
I don't really watch enough TV to do that...
Desperate Housewives (not because it's a bad show, just because it's misunderstood. Don't judge a show by it's title.)
3. Write yourself into a TV show.
That would be pretty scary.
I would be the new quirky waitress at Central Perk that Joey would fall in love with, but could NEVER have. :)
4. Replace someone in a TV show.
I think Homer Simpson could add a lot to a CSI team.
Survivor - kick off that dumb Shane and bring back Melinda! Quitter are dumb. Are ya with me, Amanda??
5. Who would you like to see out of tvland forever?
All the people in shows like Without a Trace.
Simon Cowell, Jennifer Love Hewitt(Ghost Whisperer), Teri Hatcher(Desperate Housewives)
6. Who would you like to see back?
Bill Cosby
duh! Friends! or Seinfeld....
7. Entertainment or information?
Entertainment 95% of the time
Is there actually informational TV? hmm...interesting concept. :)
8. What makes for a good viewing experience for you?
Lots of fight scenes, lots of romance. Well, not really, but they are pretty good in moderation. I don't mind predictable plots that much sometimes, but a really good storyline with lots of character development...like Lost...will get me very hooked.
I agree with Amanda. I will also add that the human psychology of Survivor fascinates me. People really are disturbing beings...
9. Have you ever had a great idea for a special niche cable channel (like the Golf Channel or Home and Garden TV)?
An Africa channel would be nice. Except I'm way too cheap to pay for cable (although I rent movies all the time, which isn't cheap).
The 'Friends' channel. Just kidding, I'm really not that obsessed.....really. I just couldn't think of a good answer.
10. What was your favorite show when you were a kid?
Full House
The Waltons
11. Most memorable moment of television?
Um...different moments in the last two seasons of Survivor, I guess. Like Ian making a deal with Tom to take Katie to the final two, and Steph and Danni battling it out in the last challenge. I probably won't remember that in a few more years, though.
Ross and Rachel getting together, Ross and Rachel breaking up, Ross and Rachel getting together, Ross and Rachel breaking up....
No, seriously, it would have to be 9/11 and how important TV got to all of us. I was in college and nobody went to class. We all just congregated and glued our eyes to the news.
12. Most memorable moment you'd just as soon forget?
Don't know.
See my answer above.
13. What would you like to see again?
Lost :)
Lost! Whoo hoo!!

You know, the very nature of this post completely condtradicts the whole idea of "kicking televison." That's about all I have to say on that, because I watch even less television than you do...

Hannah tagged me too, but as my brother says, I'm pop culturally illiterate. Not only do I not know any of the songs on Andrea's karaoke cds, I also know nil about what's on TV these days. (Unless you asked me what's on Masterpiece Theater right now!)
Go Jeopardy! :)

well yeah, but I just like the sound of "kicking television." I don't want to actually do it!
Melodee, you can at least tack on answers to the ones do you have an opinion on (however pop-culturally illiterate ;-)
YES! Bring back Melinda! That was completely rotten. (And next time don't mix up the teams so fast!!)
