Kindred Spirits

"Marilla is a famous cook. She is trying to teach me to cook but I assure you, Diana, it is uphill work. There's so little scope for imagination in cookery. You just have to go by the rules. The last time I made a cake I forgot to put the flour in."

Such a shame...

It is very interesting that cassettes were "designed to be a new form of portable entertainment" and held about 10-15 songs each. Now we have ipods capable of holding over 5,000 songs that are even smaller than a cassette tape. How I love technology.

"it's like a mixed tape that never ends". I kinda wish I grew up in the 80's so I could be apart of the mix tape explosion. To be cool like Marty from Back to the Future riding around on a skateboard, big black sunglasses, the jean jacket and a walkman. Awesomeness!

I did enjoy our visit at your house. It was fun to meet you and see everyone again. So thank you for opening up your home.

You're very welcome, Brian. It was also good to finally meet you and see that you do, in fact, exist.
I grew up on the tail end of the mix tape revolution. I was telling the Schaner girls yesterday that that was how we determined who was "going out" with whom in junior high. Have a crush on a girl?? Make her a mix tape!! Oh, and the one absolute necessary song? "Everything I Do, I Do It For You" by Brian Adams.
In high school, it turned into "Mixed CDs". The necessary love song?? "Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden. Gag.
